Triple 8 RD Wrist Guards at Cardinal Skate Co.

As you may or may not know, Triple 8 (and a lot of other protective gear companies) have started to cater to the roller derby community, as with the Triple 8 RD Wrist Guard (the RD stands for “roller derby”!!).  These wrist guards as with all the other new gear on the market has been created to withstand more abuse, and to fit women better than the gear designed for skateboarders.  To begin with, the Triple 8 RD Wrist Guard has a thicker neoprene construction, and a heavy pull tab to slide them onto your hands, compared to the lightweight and more breathable mesh of their base model.  While the mesh keeps you a little cooler, it also is the first thing to wear out on the wristsaver I and II.  The next thing they added is a larger area on the palm of the splint.  The reason for this is to distribute the impact when you smack your hand of the ground reducing the amount you feel it on your hand…  Makes perfect sense…  All in all, they’re definitely worth the extra $10… Your hands will thank you for it.  You can find all of this on our brand new online store!!
